Set in contemporary New York City, a seemingly ordinary teenager, Clary Fray (Lily Collins), discovers she is the descendant of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of young half-angel warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect our world from demons. After the disappearance of her mother (Lena Headey), Clary must join forces with a group of Shadowhunters, who introduce her to a dangerous alternate New York called Downworld, filled with demons, warlocks, vampires, werewolves and other deadly creatures. Based on the worldwide best-selling book series.

As you likely already know, this movie is based on the rather popular YA urban fantasy novel of the same name, by Cassandra Clare. I'd love to spend this blog post talking about how awesome the book is, but honestly…I haven't read it. Still, I'm excited about the movie. And it's a great opportunity for us to give crap away. We so enjoy giving crap away!

So let's cut to the chase, shall we?

The winner of this giveaway will get a $25 e-gift certificate to the online movie-ticket vendor of your choice, but you must choose a vendor that allows online purchase via a website that's in English. You can use the gift to buy tickets to City of Bones…or any other movie of your choice!

  1. I have not read the books. I want to see the movie first though then read the books after I've seen the movie. :p There are some movies I have no problem watching the movie first and then going back and filling in the blanks. Plus seeing the characters on screen helps me picture them better in books.

    1. I read the first book and really enjoyed it but never got to the rest of them. I think I'll check out this one first and see if I'm hype enough to read the rest.

  9. I've read all of the books except for the newest one! And I've liked them all, though I like the earlier ones better than the new ones. (Maybe that's why I haven't read the newest...) I actually like the Infernal Devices, the prequel series, a bit better--probably because of the setting. :) Thanks for the awesome giveaway! This is such a good idea!

    1. Wow. Infernal Devices actually looks better to me. Perhaps I should check that series out first.

    2. I've been thinking about trying the Infernal Devices. Honestly, I started City of Bones and wasn't feeling it. I never finished. To me, it felt like various kinds of magic been thrown together without much cohesiveness. But I'm confident Infernal Devices will work better for me, since the first one was written after the world had been more fully formed.

  14. I actually read Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1) a couple years ago when it first came out w/o realizing that it was a prequel series. I enjoyed it but didn't continue the series with he intent to first read The Mortal Instruments. Sadly though, I never got around to it. I don't usually like seeing movies before reading the book but I'm making an exception to it for this one. I still intend to read both series.
