Top Five Menage Romances

I love Menage Romances. I'm a big believer that when it comes to my erotic romances. . .more men is better.

But what is a Menage Romance?

Mary at the blog Menage Whispers presented a great definition:

Ménage à trois is a French term which originally described a domestic arrangement in which three people having sexual relations occupy the same household – the phrase literally translates as “household of three." In contemporary usage, the meaning of the term has been extended to mean any living relationship between three people, whether or not sex is involved, but because it has also been extended to refer to the actual sexual act between three people, otherwise known as a threesome, the term retains its suggestive quality.
Further discussion on the topic HERE

So with that definition, here's my top five Menage Novels that offered steamy scenes and awesome undertones of literary genius!!

1.

Darkness reveals as much as it hides, sometimes.
We were touching, hand to shoulder, hand to arm, hand to elbow. We dripped.
We breathed.
My teeth had stopped chattering, because of the heat.

2.
Broken love is the most dangerous love. It will slice you open with every touch.

3.

She twisted and trembled in the water as the two men played with her, their light and dark heads bowed over her breasts, their lips and teeth and tongues playing twin medleys.

4.

His inhibitions fell away,
along with his preconceived ideas of what sensible people did.
Here,
where each new round of play began,
his desires spoke to him in the clearest possible tones.

5.

He leaned forward
and kissed her deeply. “Don’t be afraid, Myr.
I love you more than I could ever put into words, but I won’t fail you. I promise.
This love,
our love,
 is forever.”

I hope you check these menage novels out! Come by my blog and let me know what you thought of them!

Books That Changed My Life

Sometimes you can read a work of fiction and completely change your whole outlook on life. At one moment, your ideologies are there. At the end of the book, they've jumped way over to the opposite side.

Not many novels have done that for me, but when they do, I rave about them. So here we go with the top five books that changed my life.

I learned that writing the regular erotic romance won't do. I have to dig deeper in my heart and explore my fears and desires like Megan Hart did when she wrote this book.

It's an incredible read.

This is a masterpiece of mega proportions. The day I finished this novel was the day I stopped taking the rat race to riches too seriously.

Although I wasn't happy about the way this story ended, this novel is the reason why I started writing in the New Adult genre. I loved the addictive quality of the hero and heroine as well as the sort of edge of the seat anxiety in their decisions.

This was so beautifully written. Their were several themes on beauty and love. I really began thinking differently on those topics after reading this.

This book discusses the famous poet Basho who believed that the journey to writing a book was way more important than the finished product. I keep that thinking with me always each time I write a book.

So what were books that changed your life?

Top 5 Erotic Classics

There are really some great erotica out there, if you just take the time to check a few out. Some push the envelope. Others present the beginning of a sexual relationship in such a strange way that you're so intrigued to read on.

I have a top five of oddly interesting erotica that are near and dear to my heart.

1.

A sexual novel written in the form of a phone conversation between two strangers.

2.

Thirteen vignettes--a covetous French painter, a sleepless wanderer of the night, a guitar-playing gypsy, and a host of others who yearn for and dive into the turbulent depths of romantic experience.

3.

Beautiful writing and theme surrounding a married
couple and the husband's best friend.

4.

Not just sex but a literary novel on a woman's self-discovery and liberation.

5.

A dark tale that is arousing and haunting.

So that's my top five oddly interesting erotic classics. I think these books are pioneers and can be read as fascinating historical lit as well as steamy erotica.

Check them out, if you dare.

Author Interview & ebook Bundle Giveaway: Secrets of a Side B****

As I write this post, Secrets of a Side Bitch is #1 on three Amazon Bestseller's lists and pretty much dominating the African American categories.

$.99 on Amazon

I grabbed it, but before reading. . .I wanted to get to know author Jessica Watkins. So I go on her website and see this book trailer that pretty much intrigues me.

After that, I had to meet the person behind the bestselling book and jaw-dropping trailer. Check out my interview with Mrs. Watkins, but first get a look at the trailer.

Oh Don't forget to enter into the ebook bundle giveaway at the end of the interview!! The winner can win THREE of her eBOOKS where the book covers are presented in this interview.

What is the Femistry Series?

The Femistry series is set in the city of Chicago and follows the lives of Lyric, Tricey, and Victoria as they travel the Windy City and  encounter the road blocks that every urban woman can relate to.

It is told in the first person narrative from the perceptive of three street smart, sassy, and ambitious women.

I wanted these novels and its characters to embody the realistic ideal of women in today’s culture.

Therefore, they are representatives of every woman we know, live the lives of the women that we encounter, and suffer the heartbreak, betrayal, and confusion of every woman that may read this series.

These novels are fast paced, well-plotted, never give readers the typical “Hollywood” ending, and are an enjoyable read for those that desire realism over irrelevant fiction.

Why does that book trailer rock so much?

The trailer rocks so much because it immolates EXACTLY what the books are about!

What is the favorite book that you've written and why?

Grand HustleI stepped outside of my comfort zone. I had to do a lot of research to successfully write that book. It had everything; swingers, criminals, escorts, the works!

What would you call the genre you write in and tell me what novels need to have in order to fit it?

I like to refer to my genre of writing as Realistic Fiction. I like to write in a fashion that readers can easily see themselves in the situations in the book and find that they can relate to the characters.

I think its more exciting when a reader can read a book and actually envision themselves in the book because the situations can actually happen to them, not some far out scenario that is just too irrational.

What are some of the authors that have been your inspiration as a writer?

As a teenager, I was inspired by Terry McMillan, E. Lynn Harris, Eric Jerome Dickey, and Sistah Souljah

What's next for Jessica Watkins?

I will release Secrets of a Side Bitch 2 and 3 and the finale of the Femistry Series, which has yet to be titled.

About the Author

Website      Twitter      Facebook

Author of Urban Chick Lit, Erotica, and Contemporary Urban Fiction... Jessica N. Watkins was born April 1st in Chicago, Illinois. She obtained a Bachelors of Arts with Focus in Psychology from DePaul University and Masters of Applied Professional Studies with focus in Business Administration from the like institution. Working in Hospital Administration for the majority of her career, Watkins has also been an author of fiction literature since the young age of nine. Eventually she used writing as an outlet during her freshmen year of high school as a single parent: “In the third grade I entered a short story contest with a fiction tale of an apple tree that refused to grow despite the efforts of the darling main character.

My writing evolved from apple trees to my seventh and eighth grade classmates paying me to read novels I had written about kids our age living the lives our parents wouldn’t dare let us”. At the age of twenty-eight, Watkins’ chronicles have matured into steamy, humorous, and realistic tales of women's literature. She hopes that The Epitome of Femistry series will successfully emulate ideal femininity while tackling stereotypes, familiar heartache, and relatable distress in a humorous, sophisticated, and erotic fashion.

5 Erotica Genres that Freak Me Out

We all like what we like. Let's get that straight, but some erotica genres just freak me out!

In my browsing of Amazon erotica ebooks, I've found some crazy stuff, things that make me embarrassed for writing and reading erotic romance (which is different from erotica, but always thrown together, by non-genre readers)!

Anyway. . .

Before previewing the list, you should ask yourself this. . .

Do I really want to know the types of books that would freak Kenya Wright out (she's already a weirdo)?
Red or Green Pill, People!!
Additionally all tag lines under the novels are actually from their book blurbs!

I can't make this stuff up!!

The 5 Erotica Genres that Freak Me Out!

5. TEDDY BEAR PORN

I just get really upset for all of the innocent stuffed animals in these books.

". . .a woman whose insatiable lust was satisfied only by one thing… her stuffed teddy bear"

4. BEAST and MONSTER SEX

"When the angry T-Rex corners the huntress in a box canyon,
it seems more interested in her wet womanhood than in her flesh."

3. DOGS

In all fairness, apparently in these novels the dogs end up being Were-dogs afterwards. . .
thus making this not bestiality. . .just revolting.

"One dog will be the master until she is yelping with pleasure."

``
". . .the dog becomes overly friendly and, to Helena's surprise, the animal isn't only what it appears to be..."

2. More Mature than I can deal with. . .

And the WINNER and still Champ. . .
