RAW: Book Review

I hate to be obvious here. . .but this book was RAW!

Too obvious?

I don't think you all quite understand what I'm trying to say here.

This isn't a fairytale or your typical romance. It's something twisted and hard to swallow at times.

Am I making sense here?

Fuck it.

The words are so crude that my lips part and I huff in an unsteady breath.

He takes a step forward, his eyes never leaving mine. "Dirty."

Watching my reaction, he adds, "And this type of dirty. . ."  He breathes deep and says on an exhale, ". . .it doesn't wash off."

Well, I don't know about everyone else, but each time I took a break from reading the novel. . .I took a shower.

Am I clean?

Hell No!

I want more! Is there a next book? I haven't seen anything yet, but I swear this is karma on me for taking so long with sequels.

Aint that a bitch! :-(

Fine. I'm overexagerrating a bit. He's sexy, but on the inside. . .it's that guy up above in the gif.

OOOOOOOO I love wicked, but at times he might have pushed EVEN MY LIMITS!

My Book Trash May Be Your Book Treasure?

The more a person reads, reads, and reads, the more the person hits a couple duds on the road.

Some months you might hit nothing but duds. I mean you're reading the book and you're like. . .

But then I go to the book's Goodreads page and people are like:

"I LOVE THiS BOOK!!

So what does that mean?

Clearly that other people are wrong, and I am freaking right! But even more important, it means that what I may think is utter garbage may very well be someone else's most prized possession.

So here's my trash for this month and perhaps you find some books that you may want to read out of the pile.

WHY TRASH: This just didn't catch me. The premise was great and fun. The main character basically does mediation for mystical creatures. Many of them are dragons. The writing was good. I just didn't care. I was in the mood for something dark and at the time this was really light and humorous.

Why Trash: This book was just hard for me to read. I get into lots of books so it's not that I'm illiterate or anything. . .I just struggled with getting into the story. The world was amazing. . .the stuff I could understand, but. . .I just had to dnf it.

Why Trash: I just dragged through this book. If I hadn't been made to read it by authors Alicia, Megan, and Dara for the Fantasy Floozies book of the month discussion, I would have DNF'd much much earlier.

Why Trash: This book just makes me too damn sad. It's Megan Hart so of course it is beautifully written. She just has that way of writing that makes you think so deeply about things, but it was just too sad.

The heroine just depressed the shit out of me, and FOR ME. . .that is HUGE! I love dark erotic romance. . .but this was just more Sad Erotic Romance. She just was depressed, feeling old, and like she'd wasted her life in a marriage that was too me, not bad at all.

Why Trash: I just wasn't able to get into the story. It just started off like any New Adult or Young Adult novel to the point where it felt really predictable and even boring.

Book Review: Magic Rises (Book 6 of Kate Daniel's Series)

I won't do spoilers! 
I'll just be so annoyingly vague to the point you (who haven't read the book) will feel stupid (which you should for not reading the book. . .Alicia W Brewster!)!

Before I get into my FANGIRL FRENZY. Let's do a moment of silence for someone dear to my heart who passed away in this book!

The person who passed away brought such great entertainment to the stories, and was one of the most unique characters in the urban fantasy genre.

                       You will be missed!!

I loved this book. Was it the best in the series?

Gosh, I really don't know. I tend to masturbate to them all pretty equally. 

I will say there was a bit of drama in this one. Curran and Kate's relationship was tested several times to the point where Kate's Pimp Hand itched a whole lot.

There were loads of interesting magic!

Hoards of great fight scenes!

And the funny. . .

Oh there was tons of funny! Check these lines out:


"When a joke flies past a sulking werejaguar, does i make a sound?"

"I'd signed six things and my stack wasn't getting any smaller. It was like the paperwork was breeding while I worked."

or this scene..

"Is it poisoned?" Saiman asked.
"It's Saturday," I said. "We only serve poison during the week." 
"Yes, we're not complete savages." Curran sat.


So to wrap things up. . . 

I laughed, cried, orgasmed, got pissed off, jumped in victory, cried some more, screamed, and then fell into a state of depression because the book had ended.

NOW WHAT DO I DO WITH MY LIFE????
